The syringe comes with the needle attached, and is designed to maintain a closed system to eliminate dead space within the syringe barrel.

All Safer Syringe Innovations syringes are prepared using aseptic technique in accordance with recognised medical practice.

Draw up the medication using the front edge of the plunger black seal as the reference point.

The design allows for the calibration to provide for the retraction mechanism at the front of the plunger seal.

Select the injection site, hold the syringe by placing the index and middle fingers under the barrel flange ready to depress the plunger with the thumb.

​

Deliver the full dose of medication by depressing the plunger until it is felt to pass through a resistance point at the end of the travel.

The needle will then automatically retract from the patient into the barrel of the syringe.

The advantage of automatically activating the safety mechanism whilst still in the patient virtually eliminates the risk of needle stick injury, and minimises the exposure to atomised blood spray that may potentially contain a virus.

The used syringe may then be disposed into the appropriate sharps container as per standard medical protocol.
